Coimbatore: Rangasamy, a labourer from Kandampalayam area of Varapatti panchayat in Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore district came with his wife and lodged a complaint at Coimbatore Collectorate.

He alleged that on May 5, there was a verbal altercation with his relative Jagadeesan. Later Sakthivel, Thangavel and Jayaprakash area attacked him with a club in support of Jagadeesan, causing fractures in his leg and back.
He mentioned in the petition that when he and his son Nagaraj went to lodge a complaint, they were nabbed and locked up in the toilet one Senthil's house. As he was infected with COVID-19 and was under treatment, he sent a complaint by post on September 9 to Sultanpet police station. A summons was issued stating that there was no basis for the complaint in the hearing held in the presence of Superintendent of Karumathampatti and that if there was any objection he could inform the Sulur Criminal Court. He added that he sent his son because he could not go. Staff there asked him to go to the district court as there were no files on the case in the Sulur Court.
He demanded action against the person who threatened to kill him and demanded relief. He also sought protection for him and his family. He also demanded action against Sub-inspector Nagaraj who was partial to one side.
