Overspeeding car near Tirupur collides with two-wheelers killing four including three members of the same family
Tirupur: An overspeeding car near Tirupur collided with two-wheelers and killed four including three members of the same family.
Madankumar hails from Kangayam area of Tirupur district. He was traveling from Tirupur to Kangayam in his luxury car this morning. While the car was on its way near Rangapalayam next to Nachipalayam, it collided head-on with an oncoming two-wheeler. The rider Lingusamy, who was running a grocery shop in the Rangapalayam area, died on the spot.
Mithun, a resident of Mudalipalayam, Tirupur, who was riding in a two-wheeler behind the car and collided with it, was also killed on the spot.
Mithun's mother Jeeva and sister Mercika who were pillion riders also were grievously injured and were rushed to Tirupur Government Hospital for treatment. After first-aid, both the mother and daughter were taken to another hospital in Tirupur where they succumbed to their injuries. This has taken the death toll from the road accident to four.
Avinashipalayam police have registered a case and arrested Madan Kumar for overspeeding.
