12 including a prison inmate tested positive for Covid in Pollachi
Coimbatore: The health department has informed that 12 people, including a prison inmate from a sub-jail in Pollachi and 4 elderly people, have been infected with Covid in the past two days, in Pollachi town.
A 35-year-old male prisoner, a 52-year-old woman from Vakkampalayam, 61-year-old woman from Pollachi Uthukkadu road, 60-year-old woman from Theppakulam, 80-year-old man and his 71-year-old wife from Mahalingapuram, Nehru Nagar, 23-year-old man from Panikkampatti, Anaimalai, 52-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman from V. Kaliyapuram School road were among the 12 people confirmed to have infected with COVID in the past two days, the health officials told.
Fumigation works are underway at all areas where positive cases are reported.
