Akkalbegu (24) from Assam resides at Ramalinga Jothi Nagar near Ramanathapuram and is employed at a private company. For the past six months, he has been in love with a girl he met on Facebook. They got married on September 10, 2020 even though their parents objected to the marriage.
The couple faced a lot of financial crisis following their wedding and had allegedly been under a lot of stress. Owing to this, they attempted suicide by hanging.
While Akkalbegu died on the spot, his wife was rescued alive. Ramanathapuram police have registered a case and are investigating.
