Coimbatore: Corporation commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected solid waste management plants in Vellalore. He inspected the segregation of compostable and non-compostable waste and reviewed how composting is done.

Garbage collected from all the zones in Coimbatore Corporation and brought from disposal centres at Peelamedu and Ukkadam is taken to the segregation plant in Vellalore Solid Waste management centre.
Corporation Commissioner and Special officer inspected the transfer of garbage, the segregation, making of compost and its packing.
Corporation Commissioner also inspected the newly constructed surgical centre for contraception of homeless dogs at Ondipudur. He inquired about the facilities provided for the treatment of dogs in the centre.
He then visited and inspected the waste treatment plant operating in Ondipudur.
Later, he visited and inspected the site proposed for a women's care home in Ondipudur.
Corporation Engineer Parvathi, Executive Engineers (Smart City) Saravanakumar and Gnanavelu, Assistant engineers Ravikannan, Hemalatha, and manager of private company Dhanasekaran and other corporation officials were present.
