Under the directions of the DMK President M.K. Stalin and under the guidance of the Coimbatore East District Incharge Maruthamalai S. Senathipathi, portrait of Arignar Anna was garlanded in Perur under the Madukkarai Central Union and in the Panchayat branches, led by the Madukkarai Central Union Incharge EB A. Rajendran.
Sweets were also distributed and as a special feature of the celebration, food was distributed to 500 people at the Madukkarai Bodipalayam branch.
