Lakshmi, 80, and her husband Damodarasamy, an elderly couple from Ramanuja Nagar, Singanallur, Coimbatore, have lodged a complaint with the City Commissioner of Police demanding action against their last son Karthikeyan for beating them and threatening not collect rent from their ancestral property.
Lakshmi said that they have four sons and a daughter. She added that three sons have died and that only their son and daughter are alive. She said she and her husband get their sustenance from rental income from the ancestral property.
She added that Karthikeyan is not allowing them to collect rent for the land. She alleged he hits them very hard and that her husband's shoulder was severely hurt recently from the hitting for which he is currently receiving treatment. He also verbally abuses them making them think about suicide. Presently, their son is collecting the rent leaving the elderly couple with no means of livelihood.
Hence she requested that appropriate action be taken against their son.
