Coimbatore: Peelamedu DMK Youth Wing celebrated the 'Mupperum Vizha' commemorating the 112th birth anniversary of Arignar Anna. Financial assistance was provided to women.
The 'Mupperum Vizha' is a celebration of the birth anniversary of Arignar Anna, birth anniversary of Periyar and the foundation day of the DMK. It is celebrated together on September 15 by the DMK.
In line with this, Peelamedu DMK hosted the celebration in a grand manner in Coimbatore. The Youth wing organiser Manikandan and the Taluk Secretary Madasamy undertook the arrangements.
Thirty women were presented with sarees, sweets and financial assistance on the Ellai Thottam road, Peelamedu where the party flag was hoisted.
District committee member N. Manoharan, Area Secretary V. Balasubramaniam, R. Manikandan, Mill Ravi, Duraisamy, Pandian, Gurusamy, Santhosh, Balachandar and Mahesh took part in the event.
