Coimbatore: Do not hesitate to take COVID-19 tests - Coimbatore District Collector requests people

Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector has asked the public not to hesitate to take COVID-19 tests. As the testing has been increased to control coronavirus infection in Coimbatore, District Collector Rajamani said the public should not hesitate to carry out coronavirus testing.

The District Collector said, "The number of coronavirus victims has been below 500 for the last 2 days due to the action taken by the Coimbatore District Administration. About 8,500 people in the district are tested daily. Of these, 6,000 are within Coimbatore Corporation. The increase in the number of testing will help in preventing the spread of the disease as we have been isolating those who turn positive."

He added that since the lockdown relaxations have been announced the lockdown and public transport has resumed, the public should be very careful. He asked people to contact the nearest government hospital or ESI hospital even for any minor symptoms so that they can be tested immediately. He also said, "Those who are unable to go to the hospitals can attend the medical camps conducted by the corporation and get tested. The public should not be hesitant to undergo COVID-19 tests."
