Coimbatore: Seeking financial assistance for her ailing 13-year-old daughter, a grieving mother resorted to the District Collectorate here on Friday to file a petition. 



Addressing the reporters, Rajanandini, the petitioner informed that her daughter has been suffering from renal ailment and had to undergo a transplant surgery. A year before, she donated her kidney to save her daughter and a transplant surgery was done at a private hospital here. 



She lamented that despite the surgery, the doctors informed that her daughter had go undergo a liver transplant surgery, as well. Devastated by the news, Rajanandini claims that she had approached her husband and his family for donating liver but was left in despair as they allegedly did not come forward to help. 

After spending lakhs over her ailing daughters treatment, the distressed mother accused that her husband, Vijayakumar who works as a manager in the sales division of a popular news agency in Salem had provided financial assistance during the kidney transplant surgery but however not been helping in addressing the present medical condition of their daughter. 

With the cost of the surgery and treatment running into lakhs, Rajanandini grieved that she has been battling all alone to continue treatment for her daughter by staying at a private hostel in Coimbatore, for a year now.  

With much hope, she has petitioned to the District Collector seeking help from  Tamil Nadu Government to treat her ailing daughter. She tearfully expressed that the Tamil Nadu government should help her daughter who has been battling with kidney and liver diseases for over a year.
