Coimbatore:Officials with Coimbatore District Administration informed that 2,700 people have applied for Marriage Assistance Fund in the current year.
Under the Marriage Assistance Scheme, women graduates receive Rs.50,000 and four grams of gold. Those women who have not completed graduation can receive Rs.25,000 and four grams of gold. Around 2,700 people have applied for Marriage Assistance in the current year in Coimbatore District.
A District Official who spoke about this said, "Under the Marriage Assistance Scheme, 2,000 people were provided with the Marriage Assistance fund in September, last year. Those who wish to benefit through this scheme apply online. While doing so some of the applicants, do not submit proper documents. We do not reject their applications immediately. We provide two months' time for them to submit their documents.
From 2018 March until now 10,000 people have applied for the marriage fund. Their applications are being scrutinised as per the guidelines issued by the government."
