Police arrest two ganja sellers near Pollachi


Coimbatore: Two men were arrested for selling ganja in Kollupalayam near Pollachi and 250 grams of ganja was seized from them.

Police received information that ganja is sold in the areas under the Gomangalam police station limits. Following this, the Gomangalam police conducted intensive raids in areas including Kollupalayam and S. Chandrapuram. During patrol, they found Manoj Kumar (29) of Pollachi Kottur Road Nehru Nagar and Madurai Pandi (40) of Pollachi Marappettai, who were moving about in a suspicious manner. When enquired, it was found they had ganja with them.

The duo was later taken to the Gomangalam police station and interrogated. They said that they had come to Pollachi S. Chandrapuram area to buy ganja from a 65-year-old lady called Mahalakshmi and sell it in the Pollachi area. Police arrested the two and seized about 250 grams of ganja. They have also registered a case and are on the lookout for Mahalakshmi.
