Saravanan, a lorry driver, was driving a goods lorry carrying a load from the Karamadai area to Nilgiris. When he neared Coonoor he lost control of the lorry which broke through the barricades walls and fell onto the MTR track. Saravanan suffered from various injuries to his hands and feet and has been admitted into the Coonoor Government Lawley Hospital as inpatient.

If the lorry had slipped by a few feet, a massive accident would have occurred and the lorry would have fallen 200 feet into a river. The Railway police and the City police are conducting investigations.
