Coimbatore: People request proper ceiling and seating facilities at PHC near Peelamedu
Coimbatore: People have requested for proper ceiling and seating facilities for a PHC near Peelamedu Ward 38.
More than a thousand people visit the PHC for consultation from AT Colony, Kadal Road, Sanitary Workers Colony Nehru Nagar and the nearby areas for various treatments and tests. People feel that treatment provided at this primary health center is excellent and prefer visiting the PHC rather than going to any other hospital.
MDMK Zonal Secretary Velliangiri said, the health centre has the capacity to treat only five patients though there is ample space outside the room, but it was unusable as it does not have basic amenities including a roof and seating facilities. This has resulted in the public waiting in the sun and rain for medical treatment. Pregnant women and elderly sometimes even faintdue to the heat during summers. He requested that the roof should be installed immediately in the vacant space and proper seating facilities be provided for the benefit of patients coming in for treatment.
