While the opposition parties have been complaining that the Central Government has been pushing Hindi in various ways in recent times, photographs of music director Yuvan Shankar Raja wearing a T-shirt with statements against Hindi imposition have gone viral on social media. They also began to trend on Twitter and became the top trend minutes later.

Following this, many movie celebrities and political party members wore t-shirts containing statements and wordings against Hindi imposition and expressed their opposition. Meanwhile these T-shirts have become talking points all over the world and manufacturers have said that orders for these kinds of t-shirts have increased.

The knitwear company owners said, "MP Kanimozhi was the person who first presented the format with words against Hindi imposition. T-shirts were made in this format; however, we did not expect them to trend in such a large manner. Following political parties, youngsters and students are all keen to buy these T-shirts and orders are received not just from TN and other states in India, but also from other places such as America, Australia and Arab countries.

Tamil speaking people have been ordering these T-shirts in large numbers. This is a representation of the opposition that the Tamil people express against the imposition of Hindi. It gives us happiness that these T-shirts are popular even in foreign countries."
