The 15-year-old and her father, a 42 year old daily wage labourer, reside in the Maniyakarampalayam area near Ganapathy. On the day the incident occurred, the man returned home in an inebriated condition and sexually harassed his own daughter.
Shocked by her father's behaviour, the girl sought help from her relatives and complained at the Mahila Police station in Ramanathapuram. The police registered a case against the father under POCSO and arrested and imprisoned him.
