Coimbatore: Ajwain packets are distributed to COVID-19 patients undergoing Siddha treatment at CODISSIA Care Centre for regaining smell.
It is said that smelling ajwain for five days has helped in regaining smell in COVID-19 patients. Therefore, patients are offered ajwain packets and are asked to smell it. This is part of Siddha treatment that is being offered to COVID patients at CODISSIA COVID Care Centre.
District Siddha Officer Dr. Dhanam said "Based on the preference of the patients, treatment is being offered with Siddha medicines including Indian Ginseng churna, gooseberry churna, triphala churna, and Malabar nut manapagu are given to the patients. For those who have lost sense of smell, a packet ajwain powder is provided in a 5 gram cloth bag. They are asked to smell it once an hour to regain a sense of smell quickly.the
The doctor said, more than 300 people have returned home fully recovered with the help of Siddha treatment in Coimbatore.
