Man riding a two wheeler was killed when he accidentally collided with a wild boar at Mettupalayam.
Abdul Nasser hails from the Wellspuram area near Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district. Abdul who was running a beetle leaf business was returning home in his two-wheeler on Bhadrakaliamman Road in Mettupalayam after work last night.
When he came near Samayapuram, a wild boar was crossing the road. Unable to stop the vehicle, Abdul Nasser crashed his two-wheeler into the animal. He was thrown from his two-wheeler and sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital. Doctors who examined him declared he was dead on arrival.
Abdul Nasser's body is currently being kept at Mettupalayam Government Hospital for autopsy. The Mettupalayam Forest Department, which came to know about the accident, is conducting an investigation and immediately paid Rs. 50,000 as relief to his family.
It is to be noted that for the last 10 days the Forest Department has been constantly warning motorists to drive at low speeds as there is an increased movement of wild animals on Mettupalayam-Bhadrakaliamman Road.
