A van used for picking up employees from the Angalakurichi area for work at a private knitting company in Kamanaickenpalayam near Palladam was on its usual journey near the Anaimalai-Udumalaipettai road.

When the van was near Thuraiyur, it unexpectedly rammed into a stationary lorry that was parked on the left side of the road. Due to the impact, Ranjithkumar (27) of the Angalakurichi area who was seated in the front and other travellers, Bhuvaneshwari (32) and Jhansi, and driver Karthik Prabhu (29) of Thensangampalayam were all injured.
Following this the Aliyar police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured and sent them to the Kottur Government hospital for treatment. However, Ranjith Kumatr failed to respond to treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
