Coimbatore: Coimbatore BJP has petitioned the District Collector to monitor the distribution of funds that are provided as income support for the farmers under the PM Kisan Yojana scheme.
Under the PM- Kisan Yojana scheme farmers are provided financial assistance of Rs.2,000 once in four months that amounts to Rs.6,000 each year. More than 9.5 crore farmers are provided this all over India. To benefit through this scheme the farmers have to register themselves online and the documents of such registered persons will be verified and the money will be transferred directly to their bank account.
Nearly 30,000 to 40,000 farmers have registered under this scheme all over Tamilnadu. The first installment of Rs.2,000 has been credited into their accounts. Each bank has nearly 300 to 400 farmers who have received these benefits.
Meanwhile, more than 50 members of the BJP Farmers wing met the District Collector and petitioned regarding this. They said, "The BJP State President Murugan has requested the TN government to take a count of all the beneficiaries of the scheme all over TNand send it for the perusal of the Central government so that it can determine if the benefits are being availed by the actual persons.
In line with this request, the beneficiaries who benefit under this scheme in Coimbatore must also be monitored to ensure that they are the actual ones. If anyone other than the actual beneficiaries has been benefiting from this scheme, then action must be taken against them", they requested.
