September 5, the birthday of Former President Radhakrishnan is celebrated every year as Teacher's Day. On this day, the Government of Tamil Nadu honours the best teachers with the Dr. Radhakrishnan Award.
The awards ceremony was held at the Tirupur District Collectorate to honour the teachers selected from Karatholuvu Government High School, Kangayam Government High School, Udumalai Bharathiar Centenary Girls' High School and Rayapuram Nagaravai Middle School in Tirupur District.
