Coimbatore: Murugammal, a 96-year-old lady from Kuppanur village next to Coimbatore submitted a petition to the district collector today.
She alleged that her son had cheated her by forging a fake document to procure 12 acres of agricultural land. She said no action was taken in spite of multiple petitions. She filed a petition with the District Collector asking for permission to euthanize herself and her three daughters who are suffering with no livelihood if the government does help her to recover her property with proper investigation and witnesses.

Upon hearing this, the District Collector promised to take appropriate action and gave her Rs. 100 for food and transport. The incident moved the people at the Collectorate.
