Coimbatore Chetty Street house collapse: Two killed and Six people rescued

Two persons were killed when a house on Chetty Street in Coimbatore suddenly collapsed to the ground. In the ruins. Rescue operations are in full swing as six people have been rescued.

Coimbatore: Two persons were killed when an multi-storey house collapsed on Chetty Street in Coimbatore last night.While six people trapped in the rubble have been rescued, rescue work is in full swing to recover the last of the resident.



Gopalasamy (72) and Swetha (25) died in the accident under the rubble. Tanveer (5), Vanaja (65), Manoj (47), Manikandan (42), Kavita (46) and Sarojini (70) were rescued and are being treated at government hospital.

The first four were rescued by the fire department, while the other two were rescued by civilians.



Of these, only Kasturi (65) is yet to be rescued and the rescue operation is ongoing.
