Chetty Street House collapse: Three including a 6-year old boy rescued from the debris
Coimbatore: Three people have been rescued after a three-storey house collapsed due to heavy rains in Coimbatore and firefighters are working to rescue those trapped in the rubble.
Vanaja owns a three-storey house in the KC Thottam area of Coimbatore. The trio, who were on the first floor when the house collapsed in the pouring rain this evening, escaped safely.
Vanaja, daughter Kavita, daughter-in-law Shweta, and grandson Tanveer, who were on the first floor, are said to be trapped in the rubble. Also Kasturi, Gopal, who live in a thatched house next to this collapsed building and his son Mani and Manoj are said to be trapped in the debris.
Vanaja, Kavita and a 6-year old boy have been rescued and admitted to the government hospital for treatment. Firefighters and police are also working to rescue those trapped in the rubble.
Police are advising people sitting near the house in the rubble to go to safer places.

The public gathered around the house cheered and clapped as the 6-year old boy was rescued successfully from the debris just few minutes ago.
