No buses between Coimbatore and Kerala - Transport Corporation officials

Coimbatore: Transport Department Officials informed that buses to Kerala will not be operated from Coimbatore Ukkadam bus stand.

Coimbatore: Transport Department Officials informed that buses to Kerala will not be operated from Coimbatore Ukkadam bus stand.

Before the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, more than 30 TNSTC buses were in operation from the Ukkadam bus stand to various places in Kerala such as Kozhikode, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kochi and Trivandrum.

While the TN government has announced that inter-district transport will resume from tomorrow, September 7, no announcement pertaining to the resumption of inter-state transport has yet been provided. Meanwhile, transport authorities have informed that buses will not be operated from Coimbatore District to Kerala.

A transport official said, " Buses to Palakkad, Trisshur and other places in Kerala were operated from the Ukkadam bus stand, Coimbatore. Since inter-state operation of buses has not been permitted yet, no buses from Ukkadam bus stand will be operated to Kerala."
