Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation to develop tourist spots in Tirupur District

Tirupur: Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation is all set to develop the tourist spots in Tirupur District. Officials led by the District Tourism Officer Aravind Kumar conducted field inspection.

Tirupur: Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation is all set to develop new tourist spots in Tirupur District. Officials led by the District Tourism Officer Aravind Kumar conducted field inspection.

Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation has plans to enhance and improve the infrastructure of 295 important tourist spots in Tamilnadu. Under this scheme, spiritual tourism, ecotourism, unknown tourist spots, museums, archaeological memorials and many other tourist spots in the state are to be enhanced.

Tourist spots in Tirupur District:Places such as Sivanmalai, Thirumoorthy Hills Dam Park, Thirumoorthy Hills Amanalingeswarar Temple and Thirumoorthy Hills Panchalinga Falls have been selected to be enhanced.



Primary field review for this project was held by District Tourism Officer T. Aravind Kumar and many department officials.

The Thirumoorthy Hills are situated in the Western Ghats near Udumalaipettai in Tirupur District. Situated at a height of 960 meters, Panchalingam Falls here is believed to be filled with herbal goodness. At the foothills of the mountains, on the bank of River Paalar is the Amanalingeswarar Temple that has the deitiesof Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Thirumoorthy Hills Dam park, boat house, swimming pool, and aquarium are other added attractions.



Thirumoorthy Hills Dam Park plan: The Thirumoorthy Hills Dam is located in a scenic spot that attracts tourists. A project proposal to construct a beautiful dam park in the 2,700 meter long land belonging to the PWD adjacent to the dam was shelved. The Tourist Department officials held a meeting with the Dam's Zonal Executive Engineer Tirumoorthy, Zonal Assistant Executive Engineer Kanjidurai and Executive Secretary Gopi regarding the revival of this project.

At the field inspection that was held, the feasibility for setting up of a dam park was analysed.

Thirumoorthy Hills Amanalingeswarar Temple: The Amanalingeshwara temple has the deities Brahma, Vishnu and Siva in the 'Suyambu" form. This is also a cave temple. The Tourist Department officials reviewed the temple. Pertinent information was collected from the temple Executive officer Sukumar and an action plan was drawn.

Thirumoorthy Hills Panchalinga Falls: The authorities inspected the Panchalinga Falls and reviewed the facilities that need to be provided for the tourists. The drawbacks to developing Panchalinga Falls were discussed with the Forest Department officials.

During the review, District Assistant Tourist Officer T. Selvaraj and Social Activists Teacher Jawahar, Maanupatti Aravindan and Sayapattarai Kittu were present.
