Coimbatore: The 32nd Annual General Body meeting and election for new office bearers of Mettupalayam Consumer Protection Organisation was held at the Annapoorna Kalaiarangam on September 5, at 5 PM.
Lawyer R. Shanthamoorthy was elected as the new President while H. Shankaranarayanan was elected as the Secretary, Auditor N. Ravichandran was elected as the Vice President, B. Dinakaran as the Deputy Secretary and R. Rangaraj as the Treasurer.
Uma, Vijayakumar, Kandasamy, Mohammed Sheriff, Mubarak and Ganesh were elected as the Executive Committee members.
The meeting began with a floral tribute to the late Chairman of the Organisation N. Vekataraman.
Various resolutions were passed including striving for increasing consumer awareness and resolving shortcomings in civil supplies, revenue, health, education, road transport, municipality, railway and postal departments and banks.
