Narendran, S/o Jegadheesan, the Panchayat President of Peratti, Coonoor killed himself on Friday. Meanwhile, police retrieved a handwritten suicide note on Saturday. Following this, three people mentioned in the note, Kannan, Nithya and Kasthuri were arrested by Wellington Police on Saturday.
Narendran is employed at the Wellington Staff College in Coonoor. A dispute had risen between Jegadheesan and the family of Kannan, Nithya and Kasthuri regarding a house that had been constructed in Bharathi Nagar of Peratti Panchayat. There was a dispute regarding obtaining permission for the house.
Following this, Kannan's family alleged that Narendran had attacked them and placed a complaint at the Wellington Police station. Owing to this, Narendran was under a lot of stress for the past two days and allegedly consumed poison and hung himself to death at his house.
Investigation regarding this commenced led by Wellington Inspector Philip. On Saturday, a handwritten note was retrieved by police. They conducted investigations with the three people mentioned in the letter and later Kannan (35), Nithya (33) and Kasthuri (58) were arrested and imprisoned.
