Coimbatore: Kanagasabapathi, senior BJP leader and Vice President of TamilNadu BJP, along with Annamalai, ex IPS officer and recently appointed BJP vice president of TamilNadu, had a joint interaction with a few Coimbatoreans on National Education Policy 2020.
Kanagasabapathi gave the introduction of the context on which the new National Education Policy has been brought out after a long gap of 34 years since the last policy had come and how detailed this policy document had been framed.
He also laid out the important aspects in the new policy like Education Credit Bank - a measure to prevent dropouts, multidisciplinary campuses that facilitate students to take up and pursue what they like, importance of vocational training and holistic assessment and the language policy that is on par with the developed countries.
Annamalai spoke about NEP-2020 and highlighted about how the word Hindi is printed only once in the entire policy document and about how the outrage is uncalled for. He emphasized about how a mature view on the policy is needed to realize the true potential of the new policy. He said that the NEP will put India on a level playing field in the world's knowledge led economy.
