Coimbatore: 25 new nurses and 23 new lab technicians have been appointed for undertaking COVID-19 prevention measures in the Coimbatore Corporation.
To control the spread of COVID-19 in the Corporation areas, special screening camps are being conducted at all the wards of the Corporation.
Further, Corporation health workers have been identifying people with fever and cold by going door to door. For this work, the Corporation officials decided to appoint additional nurses and lab technicians. As part of this, 25 nurses and 23 lab technicians have been appointed.
On top of this, 37 mobile COVID-19 testing vehicles are also being operated for controlling the spread of COVID-19. Further, prevention measures are being undertaken through the 32 PHCs in the Corporation.
A Corporation official said, "Toreduce the burden of the workers who are currently involved in controlling the spread of COVID-19, 25 new nurses and 23 new lab technicians have been appointed."
