COVID-19: Tirupur reports 90 new cases, 2 deaths; overall tally crosses 3,100
Tirupur: Tirupur on Friday reported a whopping spike of 90 new COVID-19 cases and 2 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 3,109 and death toll to 74.
The number of active cases stood at 970 today.
The details of the fatalities today are:
A 63 years Female from Tiruppur having COVID 19 RTPCR Positivity on 30.08.2020 with myasthenia Gravis Post Thyrectomy Status admitted on 28.08.2020 at 09.00 PM at Tiruppur Medical College of Hospital with complaints of Fever,Cough and Difficulty in Breathing for 2 days, died on 03.09.2020 at 10.30 AM due to COVID-19 Pneumonia.
A 65 years old Male from Tiruppur with Pulmonary Tuberculosis admitted on 02.09.2020 at 06.43 AM in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Outcome of COVID test positive result on 02.09.2020. The patient died on 03.09.2020 at 02.00 AM due to Bilateral Bronchopneumonia/Old Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
In some positive news, the district discharged 156 recovered patients today, taking the tally of recoveries to 2,065.
