Coimbatore: A young man was attacked with sickles in an act of enmity in Coimbatore. Police are investigating the case.

Karthikeyan of Thillai Nagar, Rathinapuri runs an ironing shop in the area. His son Venkatesh (18) assists his father in the shop. On the day of the incident, Venkatesh and his friend Lawrence were standing in front of the Mariamman temple in the area. A six member gang that came there got into an argument with them.
Following this, they took out the sickles that they had hidden and attacked both Venkatesh and Lawrence and escaped from the place. People in the vicinity helped the victims and admitted them at the Coimbatore GH for treatment.
Based on a complaint, an investigation was conducted and the assailants are alleged to be Suji Mohan, Ashwin, Gowtham, Mill Siva, Rajesh and Vijay from Kannappa Nagar. The police are on the lookout for the attackers who are under hiding. Further, the Rathinapuri police have registered a murder case on them and are investigating.
