Coimbatore youth arrested under POCSO for assaulting a 17-year-old and threatening to post her photos on social media
Coimbatore: Police arrested Tamilselvan (20)under POCSO for attacking a 17-year-old and threatening to post her photos on social media.
Tamilselvan (20) is a daily-wage laborer from Madukkarai area next to Coimbatore. He abused his 17-year-old relative girl who lives near his house and grabbed her by the hair and hit her against the wall. The girl fainted after this. Her aunt saw the girl lying unconscious inside the house and rescued her and admitted her to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
The girl who returned home after treatment said that she was in friendly terms with Tamilselvan as he was a relative, but he mistook it for love and threatened to post photos of the girl who refused his advances. The girl's mother lodge a case against him and the Madukkarai police arrested Tamilselvan under POCSO and imprisoned him.
