Increased leopard movement has been noticed in the forests near the Madukkarai area. A few days ago sheep that were lodged in a shed near the Madukkarai Vinayagar Temple were attacked and killed by a leopard.
On receiving information regarding this the police and forest department placed a cage in the area and began to monitor the movement of the leopard.

While no leopard movement was noticed for a long time, reports of leopard movement a couple of days ago, near the Dharmalingeshwarar temple, were received by the Forest department.
The forest department workers who went there were informed that a dog had been attacked and killed by a leopard. Following this, the public have requested for the leopard to be captured.
The forest department has therefore placed a dog in a cage and are monitoring the movement of the leopard.
