Coimbatore: A total of 44 employees from a private mill at Navakkarai in the suburban Coimbatore have turned positive for the dreaded virus.

A private spinning mill by the name Ganesh Spintex has been in operation at Navakkarai near Coimbatore for the past 10 years. Around 125 employees comprising localites and migrant workers are working in the factory.
The manager of the company started experiencing flu-like illness and underwent a PCR test on August 28, which was declared positive on August 30. Following this, all the employees at the factory were subjected to COVID tests out of which 44 turned positive for the deadly virus. The tally also includes 13 women.
As a result of this, the 44 positives have been quarantined and are undergoing treatment at the COVID Care Centre instituted at a residential school in the KK Chavadi area.
