Coimbatore: Fear of COVID-19 has led to low passenger turnout in the government buses which started plying after the recent relaxation of lockdown. This low patronage has resulted in the reduction of the number of buses in Pollachi.
The State Transport Corporation plied 96 buses out of Pollachi yesterday. However, only very few passengers used the public transport due to fear of COVID-19. As a result of this, only 71 buses were operated today. Even today, the buses operated witnessed a lesser turnout of passengers.

The Pollachi Central Bus stand and New Bus stand had sparse movement of people. Hence, the number of buses operated is expected to be reduced further.
