Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected and reviewed the laying of model roads in DB Road, R.S. Puram under the Smart City projects.
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected and reviewed the laying of model roads in DB Road, R.S. Puram under the Smart City projects.

Model roads are being laid on DB Road in R.S. Puram, from the Sukrawarpet junction to Cowley Brown road at a cost of Rs.24.36 crores under the Smart City projects of the Coimbatore Corporation. This includes the laying of roads, underground sewerage pipelines, underground electric cables, laying of 24x7 drinking water pipelines, telecommunication cables, rainwater drainage, pathway for pedestrians, fixing decorative street lights and flashing billboards. The Corporation Commissioner inspected these works and ordered the concerned officials to complete the work on time.

Following this, he visited the construction of the multi-level car parkingfacility that is being built on DB Road with a capacity of holding 373 cars. It is being constructed at a cost of Rs.41.33 crores to avoid traffic congestion. He ordered for the work to be completed in a timely manner.

The Commissioner visited the Corporation Girls Higher Secondary school at Oppanakara street and observed the admission process of students that was being carried out while observing social distancing norms.

Corporation Deputy Commissioner S. Madhuranthagi, Executive Engineers of Smart City projects Sarvana Kumar, Vaitheeswaran (EB), Assistant Executive Engineer Suganthi, Palraj (EB), Assistant Engineer Kamalakannan, Sathyamoorthy, Drinking water division Junior engineers and Corporation Officials were present during the inspection.
