Coimbatore: The Coordination committee meeting to discuss the COVID-19 prevention measures being undertaken by the Coimbatore Corporation was led by the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian. The meeting was held at the Corporation auditorium in R.S. Puram in the West Zone.

During the meeting it was insisted that additional special medical camps must be set up in all the zones and more number of testing must be undertaken.
All the people residing in the isolated houses must be made to undergo COVID-19 testing and the concerned authorities should ensure that vegetables, milk and other essential items are being made available to the people in the containment zones. Similarly, flying squads must prepare to conduct COVID-19 testing for those with fever, cold, cough and breathing difficulties in the containment areas.

Those living in the containment area must disinfect their houses twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Those living in the containment areas and their contacts and those working with them must be made to undergo COVID-19 testing. The concerned officials must ensure that people residing in such areas undergo medical testing at the special medical camps being conducted.
The Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian said, "To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Coimbatore the Coimbatore Corporation has been undertaking many measures. Further action must be taken to increase the number of special medical camps that are being conducted in all five zones of the Corporation, medical testing must be increased, people who have reside in the same house with COVID-19 patients and those who had been in contact with COVID-19 patients must get themselves tested for COVID-19. Further, Health Inspectors must take action to conduct more cold, cough and fever testing from door to door with the help of mobile vehicle teams. All employees must work in a coordinated manner to prevent the spread of COVID-19."

The meeting was attended by the District Revenue Inspector Ramaduraimurugan, Corporation Deputy Commissioner S. Madhuranthagi, Tamilnadu Civil Supplies Corporation Chief Zonal Manager S. Prasanna Ramasamy, Senior Regional Manager, Tamilnadu State Chamber of Commerce A. Saadhanaikural, All Zonal Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Rameshkumar, City Welfare OfficerDr. Raja, Zonal Health officers, Inspectors and Health workers.
