Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected the sanitation work and COVID-19 prevention measures being undertaken in the containment areas of the South and Central Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation, today.
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected the sanitation work and COVID-19 prevention measures being undertaken in the containment areas of the South and Central Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation, today.

He visited the containment areas at T.K. Colony of Ward no.53 of the Central Zone and Ramamoorthy road of Ward no. 77 of the South Zone. He informed the sanitation workers that spraying of disinfectants must be undertaken twice a day. He then addressed the public and advised them to get themselves tested for COVID-19 when they showed symptoms such as cold, cough and fever.
Further, he also advised them to drink the immunity boosting tablets that were provided and to drink Kabasura Kudineer. He informed the concerned authorities to make arrangements to provide the people in the containment zones with fruits, milk and groceries.
Following this, he visited and reviewed the Special COVID-19 treatment center at the Siddhapudur Corporation Higher Secondary School. He enquired regarding the COVID-19 testing has been undertaken at that center, details of the people who have ben affected in the area, people who have been tested for diabetes and BP.
He then visited the Special medical camp that is being held at Ward.No.77, Chokkampudur of the South Zone. He advised the people who visited the camp to maintain social distancing, wear face masks and those with fever, cold, cough and breathing difficulties to get themselves tested for COVID-19 immediately. Those who were awaiting their test results were asked to isolate themselves until their results were received. He also asked them to wash their hands with soap and to clean it with sanitizers frequently.
He requested the people to extend their complete cooperation to the COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government to protect themselves from COVID-19.
Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj (Central), Assistant Executive Engineer Sasipriya, Assistant Engineer Karuppusamy, Assistant Town Planning Officer Senthil Bhaskar, Zonal Health officers Radhakrishnan, Loganathan and other Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
