Coimbatore: The SFI staged protested in a novel manner in front of the Coimbatore District Collectorate and petitioned the photograph of former CM late Jayalalitha, demanding the cancellation of NEET exams.

The SFI has been staging protests all over TN demanding the cancellation of the NEET exams. As part of these protests the SFI submitted a petition to the former CM late Jayalalitha condemning the NEET entrance exams and demanding the cancellation of the NEET exams.

Speaking regarding this, the Coimbatore District Secretary of SFI Dinesh Raja said, "Former CM Jayalalitha held an anti-NEET stance. The current government that proclaims that they are Amma's government passed a bill in the Tamilnadu assembly against NEET. However, when the Central Government attempts to push its agenda on them, they refuse to oppose it with a firm hand. Hence we have petitioned this to the photograph of the later former CM Jayalalitha."

He added, "When the spread of COVID-19 has been increasing in the country, trying to conduct of NEET exams is highly condemnable. Further, the speech that the PM gave on Mann ki Baat regarding NEET exams has raised a lot of opposition that is being registered on social media. The number of students who have committed suicide owing to the NEET exams is continuing to increase in TN."
