Coimbatore: Coimbatore: BJP party's Coimbatore executives paid tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee today.
BJP State President L. Murugan, Vice Presidents Annamalai, Kanagasabapathy, Vanathi Srinivasan and other executives paid floral tribute to the deceased leader.
Prior to this, the birthday of freedom fighter Pulithevan was commemorated and floral tribute was paid to his photograph.
Speaking to the press, BJP State President L. Murugan said, "It is deeply saddening that Pranab Mukherjee is no longer with us. His ideas on economics were helpful for the nation. Tamilnadu has benefitted greatly from many of the plans of the Central government. The BJP is currently involved in the appointment of various executives at the Sakthi Kendra level and is also involved in preparations for the Assembly elections. Many of the senior leaders of the DMK are currently moving towards the BJP."
He also said, "Many political changes are likely to happen in the month of December and the future belongs to the BJP. In 2021 a substantial portion of the members in the assembly will belong to the BJP. The alliance is very strong and there are no problems with it. Even if the BJP contests separately in the 60 places, the chances of victory are very high."
"The decision to freeze Sasikala's assets was a legal one. If cases have to be filed on those who do not maintain social distancing, then cases will have to be filed on all the Ministers, MLAs, MPs and other political leaders. TN Ministers should not make statements that might break the alliance. Chances of victory for the BJP in the Kongu region are very high", he noted.
