Coimbatore: Over 400 families live in TVH apartment on Trichy Road in Coimbatore. The residents today lay siege to the CEO's office demanding basic facilities in the apartments.
Residents said an advertisement was put on saying an apartment with 12 towers was to be built in the Trichy road. Public started buying apartments and registrations and payments began in 2010. Three towers were handed over to them in 2015, the next one in 2016 and the third tower in 2019. They alleged that no basic facilities were provided as promised including drinking water connection. They said until now and that only bore water is distributed and no proper parking facilities are provided for four wheelers.
They added that in some of the towers only one lift was operational and the maintenance cost was calculated as Rs 2 per square foot with additional GST. They said when they refuse, garbage us not removed and the complainants are threatened over the phone. Hence they protested and demanded immediate repayment of the corpus fund which is above Rs 4.5 crore with immediate effect and demanded that all facilities be made available immediately.
Residents said the welfare association office has shut doors for various reasons. They demanded a smooth solution after discussion with the elected executives. They got into an argument with CEO Sri Devi causing a stir.
Sri Devi spoke to the management and assured them that all issues would be resolved soon. She promised drinking water will be available within 10 days and maintenance will be charged at Rs.2 with no additional GST. She also said steps would be taken to make electricity available uninterrupted within a month.
