Tirupur Seva Samithi hands over auditorium with 60 fully furnished beds for COVID-19 treatment

Tirupur: Tirupur Seva Samithi today handed over its well furnished auditorium with 60 beds out of the 100 beds planned for COVID-19 Isolation Center to the District Administration in the presence of District Collector and JDH.

The President of Tirupur Seva Samiti Sampat Pittie dedicated the facility in the presence of Vice Presidents Shashi Agarwal and Devraj Singh, Secretary Usha Agarwal, Treasurer Rajnikant Tulshiyan. Project coordinators Sandip Jhunjuhnwala, Avinash Pittie, Social worker TR Sandeep also graced the occasion.

Devraj Singh said that Tirupur Seva Samiti has been always serving during times of need. It has been in service for 35 years and has conducted health check camps, blood donation camps, artificial limbs donation camps and social awareness during this COVID-19. They have been active since March 24th when the 1st lockdown was announced. Samiti opened its doors to the Migrants Guest Workers and arrangements were made for their comfortable stay for 2 months, nearly 170 persons were given timely 3 meals a day and all their basic needs were taken care of by the Samiti.

They also supplied dry ration kits which contained the kitchen needs for 10 days each to 12000 persons on the basis of lists provided by the district administration in association with Gayatri Parivar headed Rishabh during the lockdown period. Medicinesand vegetables were supplied to the needy, milk packets biscuits were also distributed.

Devraj singh said, "Samithi is planning to set up a fresh Drinking Water booth on the College main Road and a convenient place near the Railway Station in the coming days. The project committee headed by our President Sampat Pittie is always on the foot to serve the needy which is our motto."

He also wished happy onam wishes to all. Kishore Jain said Tirupur Seva Samiti is an association of north indians who have settled long back in Tirupur and it was a social organisation where more than thousand members from nine Indian states and three union territories are present.
