Frontline warriors at risk: Over 30 cops tested Covid-19 positive in a week; Kattoor station closed
Coimbatore: Over 30 cops have been tested positive for the novel Coronavirus, in a week in Coimbatore City.
On Saturday, the Kattoor police station was temporarily closed for disinfection, after the crime police Inspector was tested positive for COVID-19.
According to sources, 34 cops from various police stations have been tested positive for Covid, this week. While those who are symptomatic are admitted at either Coimbatore GH or ESI, the asymptomatic cops are treated at Covid Care Centers. Those who were touch with them are asked to quarantine themselves at their homes.
Last week, two more cops of Crime Branch-CID in Coimbatore were reported to have tested positive for Covid-19. Following which, the CB-CID office has been closed for fumigation.Both were admitted to ESI Hospital.
