Covid-19: 505 positive cases in Coimbatore; 9 deaths
Coimbatore: After reporting over 400 plus COVID-19 cases daily for the past week, Coimbatore recorded over 500 cases, on Saturday. As per the district bulletin, 505 people have been tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in the district, taking the district's tally to over 14,300. As per the state bulletin, 491 cases are reported today, the total stood at 14,393.
3522 people are reported to be under treatment in the district at various private and government hospitals. While, 345 people were discharged today, 9 people succumbed to Covid, as per the State bulletin.
To tackle the situation, the district administration is focussed on increasing bed facilities at Covid Care Centres and Covid Health Centres to accomodate asymptomatic patients. And,.more fever camps are ear-marked at multiple locations to identify people with symptoms ofInfluenza-like Illness (ILI).
