Freight train with 16 compartments departs from Coimbatore to Delhi
Coimbatore: A freight train with 350 tonnes of cargo has departed from Coimbatore to Delhi.
The first special freight train from North Coimbatore railway station to Delhi Patel Nagar departed today at 10 AM. The train leaving North Coimbatore railway station will reach Delhi Patel Nagar on Monday night via Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Renigunta and Nagpur. From there, it will depart at 6 AM on Wednesday and arrive at North Coimbatore Railway Station on Friday evening.
A railway official said, "The special freight train can carry 350 tonnes of goods in 16 compartments. The train will carry vegetables, food items, medicines, masks and clothes."
