Tirupur: The Tamilnadu Farmers Association and the Yermunai Ilaignar Ani agitated in front of the Tirupur District Collectorate demanding cattle markets should be reopened in Tamilnadu.

Tirupur: The Tamilnadu Farmers Association and the Yermunai Ilaignar Ani agitated in front of the Tirupur District Collectorate demanding cattle markets should be reopened in Tamilnadu.

The cattle markets were closed in TN due to the spread of COVID-19 leading to the farmers and cattle breeders to be greatly affected. Due to this, intermediaries make tonnes of profit. Considering this, the request was made to the TN government to reopen the cattle markets immediately.



Further they requested that the pending amount for the milk procured by Aavin must be paid immediately to the farmers. Further Aavin must also procure the entire milk produced, from the farmers.

Since all the Aavin Milk booths have been turned into tea shop, which has led to the reduction in sales of milk, they requested that milk booths must be permitted to sell only milk.



On behalf of the Tamilnadu Farmers Association unaffiliated to political parties, these demands were placed and agitations were held in front of the Tirupur District Collectorate.
