Coimbatore: The incident where the woman who protested in the ACC factory issue being attacked at her home has caused a stir.
Coimbatore: The incident where the woman who protested in the ACC factory issue being attacked at her home has caused a stir.
Two days back, the women living in Madukkarai area close to the ACC Cement factory lay siege to the factory office demanding measures to stop the dusty smoke from the factory causing health hazards in the nearby areas. Following the incident, police initiated the negotiation between the women and the cement factory. As the cement factory assured to take appropriate action the women who indulged in the protest dispersed.
A woman named Gayathri in Kurumbapalayam, who was involved in the protest two days back, was allegedly assaulted by three persons named Yuvraj, Ganesan and Rajaji. They had entered her home and allegedly abused and attacked her. The neighbours took the injured woman to a hospital in Arisipalayam area.

Following this, more than 50 women in the area protested in front of the Madukkarai police station demanding that the police take action against the three persons.
The women staying put in front of the station have warned that they will not disperse until a case is registered against the trio involved in the attack.
