Coimbatore: Police arrested two persons in Anaimalai next to Pollachi in connection with the case of the abduction of a Chennai businessman.
Chennai police were on the lookout for six people in connection with the abduction case of a businessman in a Rs 2 crore payment dispute in Chennai. Among 6, four were arrested and police were searching for the remaining two, Abdul Kadar and Sikander from Coimbatore.
As police received a tipoff that these two were trying to escape through Anaimalai, a police team led by Valparai DSP Vivekanandan engaged in a vehicle inspection in the Anaimalai Mukkonam area.
Police managed to find and stop the car in which Sikkander and Abdul Kadar were trying to escape and investigated them. Investigations revealed that both were involved in the Chennai businessman's abduction case. Following this, Anaimalai police arrested the two and handed them to the Chennai police.
