Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation has warned that shops that do not regularly conduct COVID tests for employees will be sealed. This has caused dissatisfaction amongst the shop owners.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation has warned that shops that do not regularly conduct COVID tests for employees will be sealed. This has caused dissatisfaction amongst the shop owners.
Corporation administration has issued a statement to the shop owners saying "Owners should immediately take the coronavirus tests for employees working at the private offices, shops, commercial establishments, etc. in private hospitals and laboratories and file the relevant documents."
The statement also mentioned that concerned companies, shops and offices will be sealed if they are found to be working with employees who have not undergone coronavirus testing during inspection by corporation officials. It has been ordered that a coronavirus examination should be done at least once in ten days. They have issued a warning stating that if this is not followed, the shops and offices will be closed and sealed.
Traders have expressed their shock and dissatisfaction with the announcement. They questioned how it is possible for them to pay for tests in private centres for all their employees periodically when they are facing a tough time already with COVID-19 lockdown affecting their businesses.
